Governor: New TV Ads Fight DWI; Distracted Driving

SANTA FE – Gov. Susana Martinez announced powerful TV ads – called “Just a Matter of Time” – to fight drunk and distracted driving. 

Both of the new ads are from the point of view of a driver breaking the law – until ultimately they crash. The ads can be viewed here.

SFNF: Gilman Tunnels Reopen

SANTA FE ― The Gilman Tunnels on Forest Road (FR) 376 have reopened on the Jemez Ranger District. 
 
Closed since mid-June, the Gilman Tunnel corridor has undergone essential safety measures following several near misses with large boulders falling into the roadway. Road crews have stabilized the cliff walls within the box canyon and removed sections of loose rock along a portion of FR 376 between mile markers 0.1 and 5.5.

My heart is heavy with sadness for the lives lost at the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville. A helicopter patrolling during the violence crashed and killed the two state troopers on board.
