Shop On The Corner Adding More Hours Sept. 16

COMMUNITY News:

The Shop on the Corner Thrift Store at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church is adding more hours for shopping.

Volunteers who run the thrift store want people who work or attend school to have an opportunity to shop, so beginning Thursday, Sept. 16, the Shop on the Corner will be open 3:30-6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month.

Regular hours for the thrift store are 8:30 a.m. to noon each Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of each month.

Shop on the Corner is an outreach ministry receiving donations and selling the donated items to support non-profit charities. Read More

September is National Senior Center Month and while the month may be half over, our local centers have a lot of great things ahead.

New Mexico COVID-19 Sept. 14 Update: 749 New Cases, Totaling 242,399 With 12 New Deaths And 210,738 Recovered

STATE News:

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced 749 additional COVID-19 cases today in New Mexico.

Los Alamos County reports zero new cases today so the total remains at 635 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 12 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

  • 215 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 13 new cases in Chaves County
  • 9 new cases in Cibola County

FBI News:

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are looking for an unidentified man and his female accomplice after the pair robbed a bank today in northeast Albuquerque bank.

The robbery occurred at approximately 10:53 a.m. at Bank of the West, 3201 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE.

The female suspect, who cased the bank minutes before the robbery and held the door open for the male suspect, is described as Hispanic, in her 20s, with long hair. Read More

Florence Irene Maret died on September 11, 2021, of natural causes. True to her late husband’s motto, she “did it her way” and slipped away quietly, peacefully, and painlessly.

Florence (Flo) was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Hayden Dean and Ruby Irene (Rodaway) Rhodes on October 28, 1929. Flo was born with a heart of gold and during her childhood developed a true desire to serve people.
