County Environmental Sustainability Board Meets Sept. 16

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Environmental Sustainability Board (ESB) will meet 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16.

This meeting will be held in person in Council Chambers at the Los Alamos County Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave., Suite 110.

ALFRED FURNISH Aug. 28, 2021

Alfred Furnish, 95, ended his earthy life August 28, 2021. He was born and raised in Dedham, MA, served in the Navy in WWII, then attended college at Northwestern University and MIT.

He moved to California and worked at Stanford Research Institute from 1954 through 1958, where he met and married his wife, Jean. In 1959, they moved to Los Alamos, where he worked at the lab until retiring, then lived until moving to Albuquerque in 2018.

FBI: Syndicato De Nuevo Mexico Prison Gang Member ‘Baby G’ Of Albuquerque Gets 17 Years In Prison For Racketeering

ALBUQUERQUE — Jonathan James “Baby G” Gomez, 39, of Albuquerque was sentenced Aug. 23 to 17 years and seven months in prison for racketeering conspiracy. Gomez pleaded guilty Sept. 25, 2020.

According to court records, from 2004 to September of 2019, Gomez was a member of the Syndicato de Nuevo Mexico (SNM) prison gang while in the New Mexico Corrections Department prison system.
