MARILYN RUTH HIBBEN March 30, 1930 – Aug. 7, 2021

Marilyn Ruth Hibben, 91, passed away Saturday night, Aug. 7, 2021. She was surrounded with family in her passing, in Powell, Wyoming.

Marilyn was born March 30, 1930, in Denver, Colorado to Evelyn P. (Morris) Stone and Claude Stone. Shortly after Marilyn’s birth she was adopted by Frank G. Townsend. She graduated from Arvada High School and attended college classes at University of New Mexico.

In 1948, she married Donald Eugene Perkins and had three children, Lois, Shari and Norm. In 1955 Marilyn married Marshall Rapier and had one child, Ruth. Read More

Update On Water Line Breaks In North Mesa

COUNTY News:

As of 7 p.m. today, water has been restored to customers on Alamo Road. 

Crews continue to work to repair the water line on Camino Redondo and estimate water pressure to be restored to these customers by 8:15 p.m. today.

DPU offers the following consideration to customers when water is restored: 

  • Water may at first appear murky due to entrained air. This problem will resolve itself in a day or so.
  • For a day or two there may be a small amount of sediment or rust in the water that has been stirred up from the bottom of the water main.  While aesthetically unpleasant, it does not pose a health risk.

Patrick Suddath Named Superintendent Of Bandelier

DENVER — National Park Service (NPS) Regional Director Mike Reynolds today announced the selection of Patrick Suddath as superintendent of Bandelier National Monument.

Suddath has most recently served as the deputy superintendent of Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia. He will assume his new role Sunday, Aug. 15.

“Patrick has an extensive knowledge of cultural and natural resource management,” Reynolds said. “His leadership, partnership and management skills make him a great fit for Bandelier.”
