I applaud Mr. Khal Spencer’s letter to the editor concerning the four council members with their NO vote for an independent audit. Atomic City Transit Upcoming Schedule Changes

COUNTY News:

Monday May 23, Atomic City Transit schedules will be adjusted in order to better provide connections with the Northern New Mexico Park and Ride buses. 

More specifically, the entire schedule will be rotated forward by 5 minutes, which will affect the timing at each bus stop. As an example, if you currently catch the bus at 7 a.m., you will catch the bus at 7:05 a.m. beginning Monday.

Los Alamos High School students Sophia Li (10th grade) and Jovan Zhang (12th grade) recently placed 4th with their team project in the Computational Biomedical and Bioinformatics Category at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair May 7-13 in Phoenix, Ariz. Zhang is a three-time Intel Finalist and winner. He and Li represented the State of New Mexico and competed against 1,760 students, in grades 9-12th, from 76 countries, regions and provinces across the globe for $5 million in prizes and awards. All teachers and staff wish students an enjoyable and restful summer vacation. While they are enjoying their well-earned vacation, LAPS is planning a full slate of construction projects to make sure the schools and facilities are ready for fall.
 
Projects planned:
  • LAHS E-Wing HVAC Project- Install 5 rooftop units on lower E-wing that have had A/C need and heat issues in winter for over six years. (Using Bond funds);
  • LAHS Science Wing Roof Project- Insurance job related project. Installation of new 80 mil fully adhered TPO system from prior insurance roof coating failure;
