Los Alamos High School students Sophia Li (10th grade) and Jovan Zhang (12th grade) recently placed 4th with their team project in the Computational Biomedical and Bioinformatics Category at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair May 7-13 in Phoenix, Ariz. Zhang is a three-time Intel Finalist and winner. He and Li represented the State of New Mexico and competed against 1,760 students, in grades 9-12th, from 76 countries, regions and provinces across the globe for $5 million in prizes and awards. The week-long competition was hosted by Intel in conjunction with Society for the Sciences and the Public.
