ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico State Auditor Brian S. Colón announced Friday the results of the special audit regarding overtime practices by the City of Albuquerque (“City”) Albuquerque Police Department (APD).

The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) designated the special audit as a result of allegations of abuse of police overtime and a disregard of APD procedures.

Auditor Colón issued the following statement on the matter:

GRACE L. OGDEN July 9, 1920 – July 25, 2021

The United Church held a small family service Aug. 2 at Aspen Ridge Lodge to honor the memory of Grace L. Ogden, a small-town girl from a frontier town who grew up to be a loving and devoted family member—and something of a world traveler. 

Grace’s only child, Charmian Ogden Schaller, spoke at her funeral. Charmian’s husband, Stuart Schaller; both of Grace’s grandchildren (Edward Schaller and Eric Schaller); and Edward’s wife Cathy and all four of their children (Grace’s great-grandchildren) attended the service.

Rockfall Mitigation Begins On N.M. 502 In Los Alamos Area

NMDOT News:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) along with GeoStabilization International (GSI) will begin a rockfall mitigation project Monday Aug. 16, in the Los Alamos area.

Due to its composition, the existing hillside is subject to rockfalls during rain and snow events, which can pose a danger to passing motorists.

The project will remove any rocks that are deemed a threat to motorists, under controlled conditions.

The project is expected to take 10 working days to complete, weather permitting.
