During the Los Alamos County Council meeting held Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, the following actions were taken:

Approved 4-2 with Councilors Sean Williams and David Reagor opposed, a resolution to apply to the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternative Program and Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program funds for the N.M. 4 Crossing and Multi-use Trail Improvement project. Vice Chair James Robinson was absent from the meeting.

On the job in Los Alamos Tuesday cleaning a customer’s car is co-owner Nik Allen of Atomic City Auto Detailing, a mobile detailing business that services Los Alamos, White Rock and LANL. Allen is a 2008 Los Alamos High School graduate, who with his partner Sarah Downes, has operated the business for a couple of years. Downes said the business is certified, bonded, insured and GSA approved. They service individual vehicles, RV’s, fleet vehicles and Lab vehicles using water based green products. Funds Help Enterprise Support Community Development Projects

Enterprise Financial CDE, LLC (EFCDE), the subsidiary of Enterprise Financial Services Corp (NASDAQ: EFSC), has been selected by the CDFI Fund of the U.S. Department of Treasury to receive a $60 million allocation of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC). These tax credits provide critical financing for community development projects and qualified businesses located in low-income and underserved communities.

Las Cumbres Community Services Celebrates 50 Years!

Las Cumbres Community Services (LCCA) is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Services first began in 1970 White Rock, with a sheltered workshop for adults with developmental disabilities to provide vocational, social and living skills training.

The agency received its 501c3 status in 1971 and has continued to grow since that time to meet expanding community needs resulting in the addition of community infant and early childhood and youth and caregiver services.

There are close to 20 programs in place today across Child and Family as well as Adult Services.

ANN FOSTER PARTRIDGE 1931 – Aug. 30, 2021

Ann Foster Partridge, 90, passed away Monday, Aug. 30, following a brief illness with family by her side.

Born in 1931, Ann was the third child of Donald DeLacy and Gerda Arminel Foster. Ann’s childhood was spent largely in New Jersey, where her father worked for Bell Telephone Laboratories, and in New England, with one year in Montreal, as the family moved with her father’s professional positions.

Wow! The fantastic music festival and fireworks at Overlook Park on Labor Day weekend was glorious.

The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos thanks everyone for joining us in the celebration.

It seems like forever ago that we filled the park and could bask in the awesome splendor of the fireworks show. This year’s show was made especially memorable with Katy P’s rendition of the Fireworks song and powerful encore performance.
