Domingo is a 2.5-year-old cattle dog mix with the cutest floppy ears and brown patch over one eye.

He was surrendered due to some disagreements with an elderly dog in the house, so he would likely do better in an only dog home or with a younger, athletic dog that he can play with.

The Los Alamos County Council is scheduled to hear Ordinance No. 665, which proposes amendments, to be submitted to voters for adoption or rejection at the Nov. 8, 2016 General Election. The amendments would consolidate all remaining powers and duties of the Office of the Sheriff to the Los Alamos Police Department and abolish the sheriff as an elective office.

County Halts Weed Spraying Due To Citizen Concerns

Due to concerns voiced by citizens regarding the use of herbicides as a weed management tool, the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Division has postponed indefinitely spraying in the following turf areas: 

  • Rover Park;
  • East Park;
  • Community Soccer;
  • Myrtle Green;
  • Ashley Pond;
  • Fuller Lodge;
  • Aquatic Center;
  • Western Area;
  • Urban Park;
  • Barranca Mesa; and

Atomic City Transit Upcoming Schedule Changes

Monday May 23, Atomic City Transit schedules will be adjusted in order to better provide connections with the Northern New Mexico Park and Ride buses. 

More specifically, the entire schedule will be rotated forward by 5 minutes, which will affect the timing at each bus stop. As an example, if you currently catch the bus at 7 a.m., you will catch the bus at 7:05 a.m. beginning Monday.

DPU Announces Limited Staffing Monday And Tuesday

Officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities report that crews overseeing the natural gas, water delivery, and sewer systems will be in mandatory safety related training Monday and Tuesday, May 23-24. 

Due to limited staffing levels, all incoming routine customer requests for these days will be scheduled for Wednesday, May 25.
