NMDOT: Virtual Car Seat Inspections Available In July

SANTA FE — Car seat inspections are still possible by way of virtual instruction.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Traffic Safety Division and Safer New Mexico Now will host virtual car seat education sessions through Zoom. 

The one on one sessions will provide parents and caregivers instruction on the proper selection, installation and use of their car seats from nationally certified child passenger safety technicians. 

Beginning in July, the virtual sessions will occur noon to 2 p.m. every first and third Wednesday of the month.

State Police Sobriety Checkpoints And Saturation Patrols In Counties Across New Mexico Begin July 1

State Police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints; saturation patrols; and registration, insurance and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during the month of July 2020.

We are bringing awareness to these events in an effort to reduce alcohol related fatalities through continued media attention and intensive advertising.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation will use animation for the first time in a new ENDWI campaign at the end of June that also promotes the states COVID-19 safe practices.
