Dana Dattelbaum, program manager for the Dynamic Materials Properties Campaign, and an R&D Scientist within M division at Los Alamos National Laboratory, will be presenting about work she’s leading at the Lab focused on materials at the mesoscale…that’s the spatial scale where a material’s structure strongly influences its macroscopic behaviors, like strength and durability.

Festival Of Trees At Betty Ehart Senior Center Saturday

This week volunteers weathered snow, slush and 25 degree temperatures to decorate two trees in downtown Los Alamos for the Los Alamos MainStreet project. The Festival of Trees is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. Tree viewing has begun. Grey Fox Spotted Foraging For Apples On Venado

This Grey Fox was spotted foraging for apples shortly before the snow storm Monday outside a home on Venado Street in Los Alamos. The Grey Fox, also known as a Tree Fox or Gray Fox, is a nocturnal mammal found throughout many areas of the United States. What makes this animal unique is that it is one of the only members of the dog family that has the ability to climb trees and is so agile in trees that when it climbs down, it can go either head or tail first.
