Feb. 9 at 12:56 p.m./A 23-year-old Los Alamos man reported that he was the victim of unlawful use of a telephone on Trinity Drive.

Feb. 9 at 1:15 p.m./Police responded to an unattended death at 600 San Ildefonso Road.

Feb. 9 at 1:32 p.m./A 12-year-old Los Alamos girl reported that she was the victim of criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13 years of age. The matter is under investigation. Read More

Local Students Build Hoop Shooting Robot

A team of 14 Los Alamos High School students are spending their spare time creating a robot that can shoot a basketball.

The three girls and 11 boys are working with 10 adult mentors in facilities at UNM-Los Alamos.

The team intends to enter their robot in the “Rebound Rumble” at the “FIRST Robotics Competition” in Salt Lake City, Utah.

LANL Director Calls All Hands Meeting

In a memo sent to all employees Friday, Los Alamos National Laboratory Director Charlie McMillan announced that he will call an all hands meeting at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

On the agenda is information regarding the budget.

Los Alamos Firefighters rescued a hiker who had fallen on Red Dot Trail in White Rock this afternoon while walking with friends. Shortly after noon, a member of her hiking party called out to a passing trail runner and asked him to call emergency dispatch to request help for the injured woman.
