Free Shuttle Service Transports Visitors to Bandelier

BANDELIER News:

A free shuttle service operated by Atomic City Transit is the only way in which visitors will have access to Bandelier National Monument this summer through November, Park Superintendent Jason Lott said.

Visitors should park in the designated lot at the intersection of N.M. 4 and Rover Boulevard in White Rock.

The New Mexico Small Business Assistance (NMSBA) program, a collaboration of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Sandia National Laboratories and the state of New Mexico, received the 2012 Manufacturing Advocate of the Year award from the Manufacturing Extension Partnership under the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Los Alamos County Bureau of Elections is reminding registered voters that Early Voting will end on Saturday.

Until then, votes can be cast from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Saturday, June 2 at the Los Alamos Community Building, 475 20th St. or White Rock Fire Station #3, 129 N.M. 4.

Absentee Voting In Person will also end on Saturday.

Quantum computers are still years away, but a trio of theorists has already figured out at least one talent they may have.

According to the theorists, including one from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), physicists might one day use quantum computers to study the inner workings of the universe in ways that are far beyond the reach of even the most powerful conventional supercomputers.

The Royal Society of Chemistry is Europe’s largest professional and academic society for chemistry and traces its roots to the Chemical Society of London, established in 1841.

New Mexico Receiving Nearly $1.6 Million for AmeriCorps Jobs

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Tom Udall, D-N.M. announced Wednesday that New Mexico will receive nearly $1.6 million to support AmeriCorps projects across the state.

Summerfest and Pajarito Punishment at Pajarito Mountain this Weekend

Celebrate the start of the summer season at Pajarito Mountain Saturday June 2.

The New Mexico Brewers Festival is noon to 5 p.m., featuring 15 New Mexico microbrewers and live music 1-5 p.m. with the Blue Hornets.

Lifts will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for hiking and biking.
