The first no-interest emergency loan from the State of New Mexico’s Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) Fund to help maintain jobs and business operations as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis is in the final stage of approval, Economic Development Department Cabinet Secretary Alicia J. Even before I made my decision to run for county councilor, I have been vocal about the need for the county to improve their communication.

The LEDA grant for the Marriot hotel was the prime example of the county not disseminating enough information to the people with enough notice. Canceled: Annual July 4th Extravaganza Due To COVID-19

The annual 4th of July Celebration at Overlook Park will not take place this year due to crowd considerations in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cancellation includes both the daytime festivities and the evening fireworks show.

The annual event is organized and run by the Los Alamos Kiwanis Club under contract with Los Alamos County.

Repaving Project On NM 466 / St. Michael’s Drive June 1-9

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in a single direction

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation would like the traveling public to be aware of roadwork impacting traffic on N.M. 466 / St. Michael’s Drive beginning June 1 through June 9.

One lane will be closed in a single direction, starting at St. Francis Drive and continuing to Quail Run Drive.

As a lane is completed, it will be reopened and another will be closed for repaving.

Access to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and local business will be provided.
