The Finance Office for Los Alamos County was recently notified by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) that it has been awarded the “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for FY16.
This is the 26th year in a row that the County has received this prestigious national award.

Pulled-Pork Sandwiches At VFW Tonight!

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary invites the public to a pulled-pork sandwich fundraising dinner at 6 p.m. today at the VFW Post,1793 Deacon.
Dinner will be prepared by Smokin’ Bear BBQ and will consist of pulled-pork sandwiches, chips, salad, beans and dessert.

Letter To The Editor: Re-discovering Meaning Of Family And Community During Challenging Times
By Patrick Mockler Wood,Recently, we re-discovered the meaning of family and community during another challenge we faced operating a family-owned small business. Our restaurant, the Pajarito Brewpub and Grill, experienced a gas leak that forced us to call on the community of Los Alamos and our family and friends for support.
