Los Alamos County Finance Office Wins 26th Award

The Finance Office for Los Alamos County was recently notified by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) that it has been awarded the “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for FY16.

This is the 26th year in a row that the County has received this prestigious national award.

“We are honored to once again receive this award of excellence,” said Joe D’Anna, Chief Financial Officer, adding that the award is only possible because of the exceptional skills, hard work and dedicated staff who work in the Finance Division.

As noted in the letter from GFOA, the CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
