The New Mexico Economic Development Department is offering Small Business Innovation Research (NM SBIR) grant awards up to $100,000 to accelerate commercialization of technologies developed with the aid of the federal SBIR awards.
 
  • Phase II grants – $100,000; and
  • Phase I grants – $25,000.

SFNF: Final Update For 1,011 Acre Cueva Fire Unless Significant Activity Occurs

SFNF News:

SANTA FE – Following Thursday’s successful firing operations, the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) has concluded all ignitions on the Cueva Fire.

No future growth is expected outside the approximately 1,000-acre planning area. For the next several days crews will continue to monitor fire activity within the containment lines and establish points to proactively address any unexpected growth outside the planning area.

ALBUQUERQUE – New Mexico State Police arrested a male subject today who rammed his vehicle through a gate at the New Mexico State Police Office in Albuquerque.

At around 12:06 p.m., Gilberto Durades-Lahera arrived at the New Mexico State Police Office on Carlisle Boulevard. After a few minutes, Durades-Lahera left the front parking lot at the New Mexico State Police Office in a gold Nissan, sports utility vehicle. SANTA FE A new commuting solution will soon be available in Santa Fe, Farmington, Los Lunas and Las Cruces.
 
The New Mexico Department of Transportation in partnership with Commute with Enterprise will offer discounted vanpooling options through the “NM Go!” program.
 
The program expands regional transportation options by allowing commuters to obtain a 25-percent discount off the monthly cost of vanpooling if they agree to share their rides.

SANTA FE Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) said Friday objectives for the Cueva Fire have been successfully met with Thursday’s firing operations. Ignitions have ceased, and no future growth is expected outside the approximately 1,000-acre planning area.

Marco Grajeda Named NM Border Authority Director

SANTA FE – Marco Grajeda, a public servant with professional and family ties along both sides of the U.S.-Mexico Border, has been appointed to head the New Mexico Border Authority, Economic Development Department Cabinet Secretary Alicia J. Keyes said Friday.
 
Grajeda was born in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and has lived in El Paso and Southern New Mexico. Grajeda, a New Mexico State University graduate, grew up in a bilingual, bicultural household and often travels between the United States and Mexico to visit family and friends and to work.
