The Iranian film “A Separation” (2011) is one of the best films I’ve seen in awhile. It purports to be about putting a child through divorce, and the difficulties of caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s disease. I suppose it is. But it begins and ends in an Iranian court house, and for me the focus really became how people tell their sides, and the fact that there is no truth, or at least no single truth.

Community Winds Holiday Prism Concert Sheds Light on Local Talent

The Los Alamos Community Winds started a new holiday tradition last year with the Community Holiday Prism Concert.

This year, the second annual Holiday Prism Concert will take place directly after the Holiday Lights Parade at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec 8 at the Crossroads Bible Church. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted.

The Winds have invited a number of local musicians to perform with them at this concert.

Science-fiction author T. Jackson King signed his books Saturday at Smith’s Food and Drug Center, 31 Sherwood Blvd., in White Rock.

The Los Alamos author introduced his new novel “Star Vigilante,” a science fiction action-adventure that features an interstellar vigilante hired to save a human colony world from an alien strip mining operation.

Los Alamos author T. Jackson King has a new novel out with the recent publication of “Star Vigilante,” hard science fiction action-adventure that features an interstellar vigilante hired to save a human colony world from an alien strip mining operation.

It’s tough to say goodbye to a story that you love. But unlike Bella and Edward, the heroine and hero of the “Twilight” story, it was not love at first sight for me and the Twilight series.
