ALBUQUERQUE  Make this a Halloween to remember for more than just candy and costumes! Spend Halloween afternoon at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science and indulge in a little Spooky Science!
 
This is an activity for the entire family.  From noon-4:30 p.m., there will be lots of spooky nature science activities in the Museum atrium. Build an alien landscape, observe snakes, spiders and creepy critters and distinguish fact from fantasy.

Los Alamos Police Hire Victim Assistant

As the Los Alamos Police Department participates in bringing recognition to October’s Domestic Violence Awareness month, we would also like to extend our welcome to our newest addition to the department, the Victim Assistant.

The Victim Assistant acts as a liaison for victims, providing services to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, dating violence and other related issues. The Victim Assistant provides support to the victims of crimes with information about the options available to them. Read More

Last Day This Year For Bandelier Shuttle Buses Oct. 15

BANDELIER News:
 
After a busy spring, summer, fall, and Balloon Fiesta, during which the shuttles carried thousands of visitors between White Rock and the Bandelier Visitor Center, this year’s shuttle season is about to draw to an end. 
 
Sunday, Oct. 15 will be the last day of shuttle bus service to the park until next spring.

PCA Expresses Concern With Pajarito Mountain Land Privatization Arrangement In The Works

The Pajarito Conservation Alliance, (PCA) a 501(c)4 non-profit community organization focusing on information, advocacy, and volunteer work to protect the ecosystems and outdoor experience of the Pajarito Plateau, is concerned about a new arrangement in the works that would completely privatize Pajarito Mountain, contrary to citizens’ prior understanding. Teatro Paraguas & Casablanca Studios Stage 4th Annual Day Of The Dead Celebration

Teatro Paraguas and Casablanca Studios (formerly Santa Fe Danceworks) will present the fourth annual El Día de los Muertos Community Celebration Oct. 27-29.
 
The Celebration begins Friday Oct. 27 with El Baile de las Katrinas at Casablanca Studios, located at 1935 Warner St, beginning at 9 p.m. DJ Ricky provides the music.  There will be a Katrina contest, and a cash bar. There is a $7 cover.
