Tuesday’s School Board Meeting Includes Introduction of Position 3 Applicants

The School Board will hold a Regular School Board Meeting and Executive Session at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the Los Alamos Public Schools Administration Building, School Board Room.

The agenda items for the Regular School Board Meeting include a motion to go into a closed Executive Session in the School Board Conference Room to discuss the purchase, acquisition or disposal of real property, specifically the expansion of a leased property.

There’s still time to support a Los Alamos High School alumni as he prepares to ride in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Pedal los Pueblos this weekend.

Scott Hardy, son of Matt and Becky Hardy will ride hard Saturday and Sunday with his wife Selena Hardy (formerly Marroquin) assisting in the rest stops along the way. The two day, figure eight route through northern New Mexico, raises funds and awareness for the movement and makes new connections along the way.

Fire Hydrant Painting Continues Around Town

Steven Calhoun of Los Alamos has an umbrella ready as artist Olivia Snyder of Santa Fe paints a fire hydrant on Central Avenue during intermittent showers Thursday. The Fire Hydrant Painting Competition is part up the 2014 Los Alamos ScienceFest, which kicks off today. Snyder is a junior at Santa Fe School for the Arts and is painting a ‘space geometric’ pattern on her hydrant near the Bradbury Science Museum.
