Fire Hydrant Painting Continues Around Town

Steven Calhoun of Los Alamos has an umbrella ready as artist Olivia Snyder of Santa Fe paints a fire hydrant on Central Avenue during intermittent showers Thursday. The Fire Hydrant Painting Competition is part up the 2014 Los Alamos ScienceFest, which kicks off today. Snyder is a junior at Santa Fe School for the Arts and is painting a ‘space geometric’ pattern on her hydrant near the Bradbury Science Museum. Calhoun is a senior at Los Alamos High School and said he is painting two hydrants near Ashley Pond with themes of Aspen Trees and Pine Trees. Photo by Carol A. Clark/ladailypost.com
