The League of Women Voter’s community event, Lunch with a Leader, features State League President Dr. Meredith Machen, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Mesa Public Library.  

 

Dr. Machen graduated from Boston University with degrees in English and Sociology/Anthropology, and earned a PhD in English from UNM. Teaching while working on dissertations, she and her husband Stephen decided to stay in New Mexico and raise their daughter rather than pursue academic research and university teaching careers. Elijah Velasquez had a big day, winning both the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles, and breaking the LAHS freshman record twice in the triple jump. He qualified for State in all three events.

Sweeping Operations On NM 502 – Pojoaque Today

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE–The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin sweeping operations 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today on N.M. 502 from mile maker 6 to mile marker 8 near Pojoaque. 

There will be intermittent lane closures on N.M. 502 eastbound lanes. There also will be intermittent closures on N.M. 4 at mile marker 67. Motorists can expect minor delays during this time.

Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit. Updates on this project will be posted on the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Read More
