Interfaith Coalition On Homelessness Announces Creation Of New Fund To Support Local Efforts In Española Valley

ICOH News:

The Interfaith Coalition on Homelessness (ICOH) announces a new tax-deductible fund, which will financially support local efforts to address homelessness in Española.

Just created by the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos, the “Española Valley Homelessness Fund” supports a long-term mission of the church. The fund’s stated purpose is to “reduce homelessness in the Española Valley, and to address in impactful ways the many factors that contribute to that problem.”

ICOH is an all-volunteer organization with participants from 14 local congregations.

School For Advanced Research: National Museum Leaders Share Indigenous Collections Care Knowledge In New Series

The School for Advanced Research in Santa Fe and the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa have announced the launch of a free 2026 virtual speaker series for museum professionals and the public.

In this series, national museum leaders from Indigenous and non-Indigenous institutions will share how they are redefining collections care by centering Indigenous knowledge, authority, and lived experience.

Does art imitate life or does life imitate art? This question can stimulate a lot of discussion for us humans with our dualistic minds. Is the artwork a reflection of reality by the artist, or does the artwork influence the reality of the viewer? I’ll save my answer until later. Christmas Eve At Ashley Pond Returns With Music, Candlelight, & Community

Every December, Ashley Pond turns into a gathering place filled with bright lights, familiar faces, typically some farolitos (put out by the local Scouts), and the unmistakable warmth of the season. This year, Freedom Church is inviting the entire Los Alamos community to join them on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 4:30 p.m. for their annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. Everything, except jewelry, will be half-price, 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the United Church Thrift Shop this Wednesday, Dec. 17.

This will be the last sale day of 2025, being closed on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
