De-stress December Programs At County Libraries

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Public Library System will be hosting two workshops in December to help the community face the busy season and year-end festivities with calm and focus.

Gwen Kalavaza will lead a workshop on “Being Present” 6:30-7:30 p.m., Dec. 7 at the White Rock Branch Library. Kristine Coblentz will host an evening of “Less Stress, More Ease” ” 6:30-7:30 p.m., Dec. 14 at Mesa Public Library.

Friday, Dec. 1 is the 80th day of school and Ride the Bus Day!

Los Alamos Public Schools is encouraging all eligible students to ride the school bus to or from school on Friday. This initiative not only helps the environment, but also funds the LAPS Transportation Department.

SANTA FE — Wednesday, the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) announced that it has hired Lela Wendell to serve as Director of the Policy, Research, and Quality Initiatives Division.

Desert Wind Transport is working with Los Alamos Public Schools to transport an oversized portable classroom at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, from Chamisa Elementary School in White Rock to Albuquerque.

The planned route is from Chamisa Elementary School on Meadow Lane to Rover Boulevard to N.M. 4 and continuing to Albuquerque.

Commuters are asked to avoid this route during this time.
