I am voting FOR County Question #1, to eliminate the Office of Sheriff in Los Alamos. I encourage everyone who believes in good government, strong public safety, and reduction of unnecessary risk to do the same.
 
Typically, a Sheriff provides law enforcement in County, or rural, areas. The Sheriff position in Los Alamos has no law enforcement duties, and Los Alamos has no County-only, or rural, land. County Council Notice Of Possible Quorum

COUNTY News:

Members of the Los Alamos County Council may attend a data presentation at the New Mexico Youth Risk and Resiliency (NM-YRRS) Roadshow, 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave.

A quorum of the council may be present, however no council action will be taken.

Los Alamos County Council Work Session On Capital Improvement Projects Draws Crowd

COUNTY News:

The Dekker Perich Sabatini (DPS) team participated in a Los Alamos County Council work session Tuesday on the 11 capital projects being considered for a possible bond election next May.

The team spoke before a packed house with approximately 50 members of the public and County staff. Will Gleason, Principal with DPS, gave an overview of the 11 projects and initial probable cost estimates for each project.

Sheriff’s Office Announces New Registered Sex Offender Todd Frederick App In Los Alamos County

PUBLIC SAFETY News:

Los Alamos County Sheriff Marco Lucero is advising the community of a newly registered sex offender.

Todd Frederick App registered with the local sheriff’s office today. He was convicted July, 14, 1993 in the Superior Court of Pinal County, State of Arizona of 1 count of “Aggravated Sexual Assault, 1st Degree (Child Under 15).”  He also was convicted of 1 count of “Attempted Kidnapping, 2nd Degree”.

App is residing at 143 Monte Rey South in White Rock.
