Did you know that the Monarch butterfly migrates? This small creature, with its delicate orange-and-black wings will traverse the North American continent from Mexico to Canada.

It’s a journey that spans many generations of this particular species of butterflies.

The natural world that lies just beyond your doorstep is full of fascinating facts and stories, if you just take the opportunity to step out into it.

Fall KinderKick Soccer Registration Ends Aug. 17

FAMILY YMCA News:

Registration is open until Aug. 17 for the YMCA Fall KinderKick Soccer program for ages three to four and five to six.

The Season runs Aug. 27 to Oct. 4. Practice and games are twice a week for six weeks in White Rock and Los Alamos.

The store has opened temporarily in the space recently vacated by the flower shop adjacent to the CB FOX Department store on Central Avenue. People always lament that change is very difficult, especially in an organization. 

They usually don’t mean that they themselves would resist all changes, as long as they are reasonable.
