Pavement Preservation – Fog Sealing Moves to North Community and Quemazon

Fog sealing operations will occur Tuesday and Wednesday on North Community streets including 45, 46, 47, 48, White, Urban – North Road to 48, and Sycamore.

Crews will then move to Quemazon on Wednesday and Thursday on streets south of Brisa del Bosque: Tranquillo, Hermosura, Sereno, Sonrisa, and Solana. Followed by streets on the north side of Brisa del Bosque: Quedito, Torreon, Tranquillo, and Sinuoso.

Friday’s schedule includes Esperanza, the north portion of Sereno, Corona, and Brisa del Bosque. Additional fog seal work will occur at the intersection of Camp May Road and the Ski Hill Road as schedules allow.

Flyers will be distributed 48 hours in advance of construction beginning in the various areas. Please review the important information in the flyer carefully and ensure that vehicles are parked off-street. Please use caution in the work zone and try to avoid the wet asphalt.

Work will continue in the townsite and White Rock over the next three to four weeks. This process is weather dependent and rain could easily cause schedule adjustments.

Barranca Mesa Valley Gutter Repair:

Some Barranca Mesa intersection valley gutters in the area where concrete and roads were reconstructed last year require warranty work. The contractor will be performing the work this week. Expect lane drops and shoulder work; minimal delays may be experienced.

Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 1
Fifth Street between Myrtle and Canyon is closed.

Work continues on Myrtle between 9th Street and 15th Street. This section of Myrtle is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.

The work zone on Canyon Road is between N.M. 502 to just south of Nugget. This section is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.

In addition, starting on Tuesday or Wednesday, expect block to block closures starting on the south end of Canyon working towards Manhattan Loop west.

These closures are required to allow the contractor to prepare the roadway for paving operations and flyers were distributed to residents in the affected areas.

Minor delays may be experienced. All through traffic on the above streets must seek alternate routes.

Valley Gutter Replacement on Loma Linda

Expect a lane closure near 2197 Loma Linda in the early part of the week to allow the concrete valley gutter adequate time to cure. The lane closure should be lifted by mid-week.

NM4 Improvements Project

Expect intermittent traffic control as the contractor applies a second coat of striping on Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional short-term traffic control may be required to complete identified punch list items as the contractor works to attain final completion.

Please Note: Southbound motorists on Pajarito Road in the right lane can turn right (westbound onto N.M. 4) or continue through the intersection onto Grand Canyon; traffic in the left lane must turn left onto eastbound N.M. 4.

NMDOT Concrete Work on Trinity

Work will be completed on the eastbound side of Trinity and continue east to approximately Oppenheimer and then the NMDOT will work on the westbound side.

West Road Closed Due to Potential Flooding

Due to safety concerns related to potential flash flooding in the canyon, LANL and the County have closed West Road until the monsoon season is over.
