CHARLES LAVERN MADER Aug. 8, 1930 – Aug. 18, 2018

Charles Lavern Mader, of Honolulu, Hawaii, died on Aug. 18, 2018 at the age of 88.

He was born August 8, 1930 in Dewey, Oklahoma and had one brother, George Mader, Jr who died in 2002. He married Emma Jean Sinclair June 12, 1960 and they had one son, Charles L. Mader, II. He attended Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma A and M College and University of Kansas.

Attorney General Warns Consumers To Avoid Fraudulent ‘Storm Chaser’ Car Hail Damage Repairers

ALBUQUERQUE – Today, Attorney General Hector Balderas issued a scam alert, warning consumers that “storm chasers,” or mobile car repairers are showing up on street corners or at New Mexicans’ front doors, trying to get consumers to pay for hail damage repair, and scamming them out of their hard-earned dollars.

The girls soccer team played Santa Fe Prep in a scrimmage game Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Field. Both teams took the opportunity to play a game before the season starts to evaluate players and try different players in different positions. AG Balderas Secures Four Guilty Pleas From Former State Senator For Embezzling From Campaign Donors

ALBUQUERQUE Monday, Attorney General Hector Balderas secured four guilty pleas from former State Senator Phil Griego, relating to his additional criminal case tied to unlawful pocketing of campaign donations. Griego pleaded guilty to two felony counts of perjury, and two felony counts of embezzlement.
 
“My office secured multiple convictions against former Senator Griego for crimes committed against taxpayers,” Balderas said. “Our office will continue to combat fraud and corruption in corporate and government sectors.”

FBI: Man Charged With Farmington Bank Robbery

A Farmington-area man has been arrested on a federal complaint charging him with the Aug. 17, 2018, robbery of a Farmington bank.
 
The FBI took Justin Watchman Jr., 26, into custody after he was arrested by the Farmington Police Department with the assistance of the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.
 
Watchman is accused of robbing First Convenience Bank inside the Walmart at 4600 East Main Street.
 
No further information will be released until after Watchman’s initial appearance, which has not been scheduled.
