Twenty four people competed in Tuesday’s Atomic City Road Runners Pace Race. The course was a fairly flat 1-mile paved loop mainly on Estante Way in Pajarito Acres.

Nikol Strother was only 11 seconds off for 6 miles at Tuesday’s pace race, and David Kratzer’s delta time for 5 miles was 13 seconds.

Letter to the Editor: Homecoming Parade Should Focus On The School And Students

I have to agree with Ms. Goforth rather than with Mr. Graham about having politicians in the Homecoming Parade.

The homecoming parade should focus on the school and the students. It’s their weekend and should not provide a forum for candidates.

In addition, I know there will be members of the class of ’64 here from out of town and state for their 50th reunion. I think it’s pretty safe to say that they’re not particularly interested in the political game of Los Alamos.

First, an update: A few columns back, I wrote about the Market Basket case (here) in which the CEO was forced out by the board of directors, agitated by a cranky cousin. Thereafter, the employees had gone on strike to demand the reinstatement of their beloved CEO, Arthur T. Mr. Arthur T. recently bought out the company, at $1.5 billion price tag, and was back on his old job. The buyout brought a huge sigh of relief from the employees, and now they are rebuilding the enterprise. I wish them luck.
