Letter To The Editor: Sewer Rate Increase Warranted

I went to the BPU meeting. There were about 15 people there and I was the only one that stood up to speak out against the increase on the sewer rate increase. I would have spoken out against the potable water increase, but they had a 45 page powerpoint presentation on power sources by some outside consultant where I could not understand her accent. That presentation was going to take hours and the Potable water issue was somewhere after that. My condolences to the BPU for having to stay.

Attorney General: Conviction Upheld On Pediatrician Convicted For Possession Of Child Pornography

ALBUQUERQUE– Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that pediatrician Juan Torres Santos, who was found guilty of one count of Sexual Exploitation of Children in October 2015, lost his appeal to the New Mexico Court of Appeals.

Torres Santos was previously a licensed pediatrician in Pennsylvania and in Texas, and was working on his application for a medical license in New Mexico at the time of his arrest. Bruce Noel departed this world from his home in Espanola, New Mexico on June 18, 2017.

Bruce was born in York, Pennsylvania on September 13, 1934. He began his working career as a bartender and truck driver there. Man Who Robbed Mother And Children At Gunpoint In Albuquerque Smith’s Parking Lot Gets 20 Year Sentence

ALBUQUERQUE – Attorney General Hector Balderas and Second Judicial District Attorney Rául Torrez announced Friday that Lloyd Aguilar was sentenced this week to 20 years in prison followed by eight years of supervised probation for robbing a mother and her three children at gunpoint in a Smith’s parking lot on the Westside of Albuquerque.

Aguilar was convicted by a Bernalillo County jury March 17, 2017 after a weeklong trial. The case was jointly prosecuted by the Office of the New Mexico Attorney General and Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
