Cone Zone: Final Update Of 2019 Construction Season

COUNTY News:

This is the final update from the Los Alamos County Public Works/Traffic Division on road projects for the 2019 construction season.

N.M. 502 Road Construction/Roundabout:

No changes to detours – same as last week. Star Paving will not be working on Thanksgiving or the day after Thanksgiving.

Eastbound traffic will continue to use 4th Street to Central Avenue and back to N.M. 502.

Westbound traffic will continue to use Central Avenue to Knecht Street and back onto N.M. 502.

NCRTD Announces Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

NCRTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District’s RTD “Blue Buses” will not be in operation on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The exceptions will be the 255 Mountain Trail to Ski Santa Fe and the 800 Angel Fire routes which will operate both days.

Upon the open of Ski Santa Fe, the RTD Mountain Trail will transition to its Winter Schedule. The ski basin has a tentative opening planned for Thanksgiving Day.

U.S. Sen. Tom Udall Calls For Swift Action On NTSB Report On Southwest Airlines Engine Failure

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.), senior member of the Senate Commerce Committee, released the following statement Tuesday on the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB)’s report and concluding recommendations on the engine failure that occurred April 17, 2018 on a Boeing 737 NG, Southwest Airlines (SWA) flight 1380.

The resulting explosion caused the tragic death of Jennifer Riordan, a member of the Albuquerque community.

Traffic Alert: NM 4 Has Reopened From Junction NM 501 To Los Alamos/Sandoval County Line

NMDOT News:

The roadway closure has been removed from the N.M. 4 junction of N.M. 501 to the Los Alamos and Sandoval County Line.

Roadway stabilization work is continuing and N.M. 4 will be reduced to one lane at mile marker 49.4 west of Bandelier with temporary signals guiding traffic through the work zone.

This work is scheduled to be completed Nov. 26; weather permitting. Drivers are advised to watch for workers in the area and use caution.

Traffic Alert: N.M. 4 Road Work & Closure Tuesday

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation District Five Office (NMDOT) has posted an alert for N.M. 4 mile marker 49.4 west of Bandelier.

NMDOT Maintenance Crews will begin roadway repair work on N.M. 4 approximately one mile west of N.M. 501 and Bandelier:

  • Monday Nov. 18 – N.M. 4 at mile marker 49.4 will be reduced to one lane. A temporary signal will guide traffic through the east and westbound lanes. No Wide Loads will be allowed.
  • Tuesday Nov. 19 – N.M. 4 eastbound and westbound lanes will be CLOSED 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from the Jct. of N.M. 501 and N.M. 4 to the Los Alamos / Sandoval
