The community of Los Alamos is invited to witness a Masonic Cornerstone Laying for the new Unitarian Universalist Church Building at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21. The Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons, Dennis Anderson, will preside at the ceremony. As I was trying to use duct tape to pull the skin of my elbow back together, I remember thinking to myself, “Maybe using a five-gallon bucket as a stool and a screwdriver as a pry bar was not the best decision I’ve ever made.” I ended up with 14 staples in my arm simply because I misused a bucket and a screwdriver. The Los Alamos Faith & Science Forum concludes its summer series on the topic “What Makes Us Human?” July 27 at Kelly Hall at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church.

Dinner is provided at 6 p.m., with a presentation at 6:30 p.m. and discussion at 7 p.m., ending around 8 p.m.

The hope is that these lectures and discussions will be interesting and accessible to all members of the community interested in faith and science, no matter what religion or scientific background.
