Los Alamos County Places Two Parcels Up For Sale

They may only total less than half an acre, but two Los Alamos County-owned parcels off Trinity Drive offer a lot of potential to the community.

These two parcels at 3691 and 3689 Trinity Dr., off 35th St. and Trinity Drive near the future site of Hill Apartments, are up for sale.

Creative District: WinterFest ‘Ugly Holiday Sweater’ Contest

Los Alamos Creative District is hosting a WinterFest “Ugly Holiday Sweater” Face Mask Decorating Contest and giving away cloth face masks that serve as blank canvases for creativity.

 It is free to participate, and awards will be given out to the top three winners in three categories:

  • Adult (age 18+)
  • Teen (age 13-17)
  • Youth (12 & Under)

Prizes for each category:

  • Gift card to Village Arts
  • 1st – $30
  • 2nd – $20
  • 3rd – $10

As the holiday season approaches, I can’t help thinking about last year’s Small Business Saturday in Los Alamos and White Rock. The county was bustling with people doing their holiday shopping, taking advantage of the many special deals that Small Business Saturday always offers and getting their Blue Bucks raffle tickets, hoping to be the big winner.

This year, as the current two-week shutdown “reset” continues, some of those businesses we shopped at last year are closed, and many are now struggling to stay open. Small Business Saturday

BLM New Mexico: Christmas Tree Permits On Sale Online

SANTA FE – Beginning today, Bureau of Land Management offices will begin online personal Christmas tree permit sales to harvest piñon and juniper.

Permits are available through Dec. 23 and cost $5 per tree. To ensure the community’s safety, the BLM will only have the permits available online this year. Permits can be purchased by visiting forestproducts.blm.gov.

When purchasing online, you must have access to a printer for printing the permit and map. The public must attach the

Unemployment Insurance Operations Center Closed Thursday And Friday In Observance Of Thanksgiving … UI Tax & Claims System Available Online

NMDWS News:

ALBUQUERQUE – All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) offices, including the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Operations Center, will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The department urges claimants to plan accordingly.

The Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System (www.jobs.state.nm.us) is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Customer Service Agents in the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center will be available when extended business hours resume at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30.
