The UNM-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) Advisory Board will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 in Wallace Hall, in Building 5, on the campus at 1000 University Drive.

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce shares a reminder about the monthly Los Alamos Newcomers Meetup organized by the Chamber and MainStreet and sponsored by Zia Credit Union.

The next meetup is Monday, Jan. 9 at projectY cowork space at 150 Central Park Square.

These meetups are held the first Monday of every month, or the second Monday if there is a holiday.

Free Training Offered For Los Alamos History Volunteers

With the spring tourist season fast approaching, Los Alamos Historical Society (LAHS) and its History Museum are seeking new volunteers for a variety of positions.

Training sessions focusing on the community’s history and historic district will be offered 4-5:15 p.m. Wednesdays in February and March (Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22, and March 1 and 8). Participants will meet at 4 p.m. each Wednesday in the Nambe Room in Fuller Lodge.

In preparation for the installation of a Level 3 EV fast charger in front of the Los Alamos County Municipal Building at 1000 Central Ave., a portion of the parking lot and section of sidewalk on Iris Street will be closed for potholing operations beginning Tuesday.
