NHCC Opens Exhibit Focused On ‘Braceros’ Program

NHCC News:

At 6 p.m. Jan. 25, the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC), will hold an opening reception in its History and Literary Arts (HLA) building at 1701 4th St. SW in Albuquerque.

The reception for the exhibit “Braceros”, photographed by the Hermanos Mayo, is free and open to the public through June 30, during the hours the HLA building is open.

UNM Press Books Take Home Awards at 2018 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards

UNM PRESS News:

Several books published by UNM Press were recently honored at the 2018 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards.

Winners were announced at an annual banquet held recently at the Tanoan Country Club in Albuquerque.

The awards are managed by the New Mexico Book Co-op and are judged by a group of librarians, teachers, booksellers and book marketing experts. The awards honor the best books in New Mexico and Arizona.

Titles published by the University of New Mexico Press won nine awards:
