Interfaith Los Alamos Kicks Off Coat Drive For Refugees

As Winter sets in, Interfaith Los Alamos is once again collecting coats and gift cards for refugees, beginning Nov. 11 and running through Sunday, Nov. 23.

Lutheran Family Services takes its job seriously to support legal refugees through the complicated processes to become productive citizens in the United States, to hopefully be safe and make a home. Interfaith Los Alamos and Lutheran Family Services thank Los Alamos for its continued generosity to help those in need.

A well fed beaver spotted during a volunteer project building beaver dam analogs earlier this fall at Bandelier National Monument. National parks remain as accessible as possible during the federal government shutdown. At Bandelier, the following are not open or accessible: the Visitor Center, Cafe, Park Store, Frijoles Canyon, and the Tsankawi unit, including the hiking trails such as the Pueblo Loop, Alcove House, Frey, and Tyuonyi Overlook Trails. Cowboy Breakfast At Sheriff’s Posse Lodge Sunday

The Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Posse is hosting its monthly Cowboy Breakfast this Sunday, Nov. 2.

The breakfast is served 7-11 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Posse Lodge at 650 North Mesa Road, near the North Mesa Stables.

The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes:

  • Pancakes – Banana, Blueberry, Chocolate Chip and Plain;
  • Scrambled Eggs;
  • Sausage;
  • Bacon; and
  • Coffee, Tea and Orange Juice.

The price for adults is $10, children 4-10 years of age $5 and those 0-3 are free.

Proceeds this month go to benefit the Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Read More

The elusive Timothy Thomas Morrison passed away unexpectedly (which was just like him!) on Saturday October 18, 2025 at the age of 48.

Tim made his first appearance in Idaho Falls, Idaho on August 18, 1977, and moved with his family to Los Alamos, NM in 1982. After graduating from Los Alamos High School in 1996, Tim went on to officially earn an Associate’s degree in Information Technology, and Bachelor’s degrees in both Physics and Mathematics, although his intellect and lifelong passion for learning likely qualified him for even more fancy Read More
