Horse Shelter Hosts Dinner To Support 71 Rescues

SANTA FE — To celebrate its’ 12th year rescuing, saving and providing sanctuary for horses, The Horse Shelter (THS) is hosting its 10th annual philanthropic Equine Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 at Restaurant Martin.

The five-course, wine paired meal is created specifically for the event by Chef Martin Rios, an eight-time James Beard finalist for Best Chef of the Southwest.

ALAMOGORDO – The New Mexico Museum of Space History is introducing a new series of free quarterly programs aimed at helping people learn how to preserve and protect their family valuables and heirlooms.

The first Preservation Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25, beginning at 9 a.m. on the Museum’s first floor. The title of the program is A Beginners Guide to the Care and Feeding of Your Collections and will be presented by Museum Curator Sue Taylor.

DPU Seeks Volunteers For Conservation Committee

DPU News:

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will be updating its energy and water conservation plan this year to meet state and federal requirements.

As part of this process, DPU is inviting customers to volunteer to participate in a committee to develop conservation initiatives to recommend to the Board of Public Utilities.

Los Alamos businesses and citizens who are interested are encouraged to complete a survey of interest online.
