SFCC And World Central Kitchen Led By Renowned Chef And Humanitarian Andrés Partner Launch Food Distribution Initiative To Feed Community

SANTA FE — To address food insecurity during the coronavirus crisis, Santa Fe Community College has launched a food distribution initiative in partnership with World Central Kitchen, led by world famous chef and humanitarian, Chef José Andrés.

Santa Fe Community College Foundation is supporting the program, which will help feed Santa Fe Public School and SFCC students and their families as well as local communities faced with the health and economic impacts of covid-19.

The Los Alamos Farmers Market, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2020, will kick off the summer market season at a new location and also feature an additional Saturday market throughout the summer.

New Thursday markets will take place 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park near Central Avenue May through October, and Saturday markets will be held 8 a.m. to noon at the Judicial Parking Lot and run June through September.

New Mexico COVID-19 Cases Now At 3,213; 2 More Deaths

STATE News:

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced this afternoon 239 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County remains at 6 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 2 additional deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

Per the New Mexico Department of Health, the most recent cases announced today include:

  • 27 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 1 new case in Cibola County
  • 1 new case in Doña Ana County
  • 1 new case in Guadalupe County
  • 1 new case in Luna County
  • 133 new cases in McKinley County
