ALFRED FURNISH Aug. 28, 2021

Alfred Furnish, 95, ended his earthy life August 28, 2021. He was born and raised in Dedham, MA, served in the Navy in WWII, then attended college at Northwestern University and MIT.

He moved to California and worked at Stanford Research Institute from 1954 through 1958, where he met and married his wife, Jean. In 1959, they moved to Los Alamos, where he worked at the lab until retiring, then lived until moving to Albuquerque in 2018.

He thoroughly enjoyed his engineering career and the outdoors. His passions included his family, dogs, hiking, sailing, skiing, railroading, photography, and building things. In addition, he devoted time and energy to the Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, including singing in the choir.

Alfred was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Jean, and is survived by his sons Mike (Linn) and Chris (Nancy); granddaughters Lisa Furnish, Sarah Mulloy (Joe) and Rebecca Furnish; grandson Matthew (Ksenia) Furnish and three great grandchildren.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice in his memory.
