SANTA FE – The Santa Fe National Forest will provide 24-hour notice to the public before commencing the previously announced prescribed burn in the lower portion of the Santa Fe Municipal Watershed.
Unpredictable spring weather has made it difficult to schedule ignition on 844 acres within the project area. The advance notice will advise the public, including smoke-sensitive individuals who may need to take precautionary measures, that conditions are optimal to proceed.

Sink Hole Repair At 15th Street And Central Avenue

Due to equipment availability, AUI, Inc. will start work on a sink hole repair at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 13 at N.M. 502 / Trinity Drive, which will be closed between 7th Street and Knecht to repair an isolated portion of the roadway.
Here’s what to expect:
- All westbound NM502 / Trinity Drive traffic will be able to access DP Road and businesses up to the Meri-Mac Shopping Center entrance. NM502 / Trinity will be closed immediately east of the Meri-Mac Shopping Center entrance at 7th Street.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, N.M.502 / Trinity Drive will be closed between 7th Street and Knecht to repair an isolated portion of the roadway.

Drivers Walk Away From 3-Car Crash On Diamond Drive
The drivers and two passengers involved in a three vehicle accident around 3 p.m. Friday near the Golf Course on Diamond Drive survived the crash without major injuries. Deputy Fire Chief Justin Grider said all five individuals refused treatment at the scene and transport to Los Alamos Medical Center for checkups.
