There have been numerous letters to the Post recently regarding the subject of firearms. But in one of these letters, Mr. Pat Kestell made a statement that strikes right to the heart of the matter. He said: “It is not the job of the police to protect my family, it is mine.”

New Mexico Department Of Transportation Sponsors Statewide Child Safety Seat Clinic Sept. 19

SANTA FE ― The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is pleased to sponsor a statewide child safety seat clinic from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19.

Brief Power Outage Planned For White Rock Wednesday

DPU News:

Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities officials are advising White Rock customers that weather permitting, a short five minute power outage is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2.

In cooperation with the Los Alamos National Laboratory Line Operations, the brief outage is required to safely replace a faulty 115,000 volt switch at the substation.
