Virtual Job Fair For LANL, Sandia, 6 DOE Agencies Wednesday

Los Alamos and Sandia national laboratories and six other U.S. Department of Energy institutions are hiring in a variety of areas via a virtual job fair 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (MDT) Wednesday, Aug. 26, to help fill more than 600 open positions.

Fifty four of the vacancies are at LANL.

Today is the 100’th Birthday of John Balagna.

John joined the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos in March 1943, making him one of the earliest chemists on the Project. Over the years, he made many important contributions to the US nuclear weapons program, particularly in the radiochemistry of nuclear testing. He retired from the Lab in 1986.

LIVERMORE, Calif. — The Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) will hold a virtual public scoping meeting for a new Site-Wide Environmental Impact Statement for Continued Operation of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL SWEIS).
