“Central Intelligence” is a light and humorous spy movie pairing regular guy Calvin Joyner (Kevin Hart) with hard-body CIA agent Bob Stone (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson). A traveling jazz master, Greg Abate returns to Ashley Pond at 7 p.m. today.

Greg plays around about 225 shows a year, all over the world. He’s been dubbed the “Prince of bebop” by the Washington Post and is one of the top saxophonists in the world. His music is mostly bebop and modern jazz fusion; the sound made famous by his early influences, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Paul Desmond.

Update: ‘Granite Mountain’ Film: Fire, Smoke And Loud Helicopters At Pajarito Mountain

“Granite Mountain” is a motion picture based on the real-life Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite group of wildland firefighters that courageously battled one of the worst wildfires in history to save an Arizona town.

The production is based at Pajarito Mountain through Wednesday, July 29 and will be producing the following special effects and impacts:

  • FIRE on Pajarito Mountain, film crews under direct supervision of the Los Alamos Fire Department’s Wildland Division, will produce controlled ground fire. Current dates for ground fire are June 21, June 27 and June 28.

Do not be alarmed if smoke appears to be coming directly from Pajarito Mountain this week. It is a special effect for a scene simulating a wildland fire for “Granite Mountain,” a motion picture based on the real-life Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite group of wildland firefighters that courageously battled one of the worst wildfires in history to save an Arizona town.
