Concordia Santa Fe’s (CSF) Wind Orchestra presents its second concert of 2023, entitled Tales as Old as Time 2 p.m., Sunday, May 28 at St. Francis Auditorium in Santa Fe.

Conducted by Director of Bands Dr. John P. Lynch of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, the 40-member ensemble’s performance will feature works by Samuel Barber, Harrison J. Collins, Hirokazu Fukushima, Vincent Persichetti, Kenneth Hesketh and Ralph Hultgren.

PEEC Kicks Off Suds & Shows Series With ‘The Mummy’

Suds and Shows at the Los Alamos Nature Center are back for another summer! This popular beer and movie series will kick off Thursday, June 8 with a screening of the 90’s action-adventure movie, “The Mummy”.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and beer and wine will be available from Pajarito Brewpub at a cash bar. The movie will start at 7 p.m. in the planetarium. Bring a picnic dinner and hang out before the movie. Tickets are $7 and a cash bar will be available throughout the evening.

The final Hawk Hangout of the school year was held May 18. This event was in collaboration with Los Alamos County Recreation, Teen Court, Library, Police and Social Service departments, while partnering with Los Alamos Middle School, YMCA, JJAB, Youth Activity Center, LANL Foundation and Los Alamos Arts Council. 

This collaboration is an effort to provide a safe space for socialization for the middle school youth in the community and is free to students.
