July 4th Fireworks Show Returns To Jemez Springs

JEMEZ SPRINGS—For the first time in three years, the Village of Jemez Springs will host a fireworks display 10 a.m. to dusk as part of its patriotic 4th of July event.

“The beautiful mesas that surround Jemez Springs are a great backdrop for one of the best fireworks show in New Mexico, and without the crowds,” organizer Billy Ehret said. “We invite everyone to skip the large crowds and lean into a small-town, authentic Independence Day which will be patriotic and unforgettable.”

Atomic City Transit Service Begins For Summer Concerts

The Los Alamos Summer Concert Series is in full swing every Friday night at Ashley Pond Park and Atomic City Transit will provide the convenience of shuttle service.   

Routes 4 and 6 have been extended and service to White Rock will be provided until ~10:30 p.m. with modified routing to and from Ashley Pond.

SANTA FE — New Mexico Film Office Director Amber Dodson announced Tuesday that the feature film, “Night of the Starlings” will be filming in and around Madrid through July.

“Night of the Starlings” is a gothic ghost film inspired by actual events with elements of the La Llorona myth. The story takes place in 1973 and is about a 13-year-old girl, “Rae” who despite her own hardships, struggles to save an abandoned teenage mother and her baby.
