Atomic City Transit – Closed Monday Jan. 2 In Observance Of New Year’s Holiday

COUNTY News:

Atomic City Transit (ACT) regular scheduled bus service and para transit will not operate Monday Jan. 2 in observance of the New Year’s holiday. 

Regular service will resume Tuesday, Jan. 3.  

Route 3 regular route, 2, 1 & 6 Peak Services will remain suspended until further notice due to staffing shortage.    

Call the ACT office at 505.661.RIDE (7433) for additional information or use the ACTracker to locate bus routes in real-time.

EDD Initiatives Support 13,000 Jobs In Four Years

SANTA FE — The Economic Development Department (EDD) announced that its key job-creation initiatives, JTIP and LEDA, helped create approximately 13,000 jobs since Jan. 1, 2019, the beginning of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s administration.

In the past four years, the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) has utilized the Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) to make investments in 60 businesses, supporting more than 8,500 new jobs at an average wage of $64,756 – up 20 percent from 2019.

Santa Fe Community Foundation Awards $445,000 To Nonprofits In 2022 Fall Grants Cycle

SANTA FE — The Santa Fe Community Foundation (SFCF) announced it has awarded $445,000 in grants to 38 nonprofits as a part of its 2022 fall grants cycle. 

Through its grantmaking, the Foundation seeks to fund a broad range of nonprofit organizations in Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, San Miguel and Mora counties that are addressing unmet community needs, tracking results and are actively collaborating and aligning their work with other community partners, including the Foundation, to improve outcomes and promote equity.

SANTA FE — New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMG&F) announces the the state’s first mandatory hunter education law — the Hunter Training Act — turned 50 this year.

The act has served a major role in ensuring the safety of hunters and hunting activities since its inception.
