Letter to the Editor: History of Abuse
By George Chandler
I address an interesting recent take on the charter amendments in which we were told that there is no history of abuse of the petition process in Los Alamos.
In 1979 and again in 1982 there were successful referendum petitions and subsequent elections that reversed zoning actions by the county.
But the losers of the 1982 election appealed the voter’s decision and in 1983 the Supreme Court ruled that zoning can only be done by representative bodies, not by election.

By Father Colin Kelly
A song we will be singing at 6:07 p.m. this Sunday night at our Contemporary Service, at Trinity on the Hill, is called “You Are More,” from Tenth Avenue North. One of the verses sings of a girl with tear-stained eyes, sitting in the corner of a bar. She wonders “How did I get here? Letter to the Editor: Furious at Icons on Ballots
By JJ Maier
I just returned home from voting early here in my home town of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

2. Romney had the American Flag
When I called our local County Clerk, they said the local government has no control over how the ballot looks or what is on it and that this ballot format is being used by all precincts throughout the state.
This seems way over the top in attempting to influence citizens at the Read More
