State Chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) John Billingsley will be in Los Alamos to speak to all Republicans, Independent and conservative voters.

He will be the guest speaker at the party’s Central Committee meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 in the Jeanette Wallace Room on the UNM-Los Alamos Campus.

They crowded around the stock tank as I lifted Toffee out, a patch of feathers missing from her neck. All of them were there ─ turkey; Lucy and Bobbi, the geese; DeeDee and Scooter, the dogs; the fours ducks; and the two remaining chickens.

15th Street Striping Work Underway

COUNTY News:

County traffic crews are finishing up striping operations on Canyon Road between 9th Street and 15th Street.

Striping on 15th Street began Thursday, Nov. 14. Work will include County crews laying out the striping design, followed by roadway paint application. During this work, motorists will see a slow moving striping machine followed by shadow vehicles.

Note that the purpose of the shadow vehicles is to allow enough time for the fresh paint to dry before traffic is allowed on the new paint. Please do not cut in front of the shadow vehicles. Work will be delayed in case of precipitation Read More

Breaking News: Los Alamos Police Crack Computer Crimes Case!

Breaking News: 

Over the past few weeks, Los Alamos police detectives have been working on a computer crimes case involving more than $50,000 that was illegally transferred from a victim at Los Alamos National Bank. Detectives have already made two arrests associated with this case.

WASHINGTON, D.C.– U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz today announced the final shipment of low enriched uranium (LEU) derived from Russian weapons-origin highly enriched uranium (HEU) under the 1993 U.S.-Russia HEU Purchase Agreement, commonly known as the Megatons to Megawatts Program. Under this Agreement, Russia downblended 500 metric tons of HEU, equivalent to 20,000 nuclear wearheads, into LEU.

For more than 50 years, Los Alamos Chapter #63, Order of Eastern Star, has sold Collin Street Bakery holiday fruitcakes in Los Alamos.

This year the chapter will continue that tradition by selling fruitcakes, as well as apricot pecan and pineapple pecan cakes, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, and Friday, Nov. 22, in the Los Alamos National Bank lobby, 1200 Trinity Dr.
