Psychologist Elizabeth Perry Closes Practice to New Clients

Dr. Elisabeth Perry, clinical and police psychologist, will close her practice to new clients in 2014. She will continue with already existing clients until their termination from counseling. Perry will continue her practice as a psychological evaluator only.  

Perry has been working in the mental health area since 1977. In 1982, she received a BS in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In 1984, she received an MA and in 1988, a PhD from the California Professional Psychology (also Alliant International University.)

On Dec. 16, I delivered around 583 hand knit and crocheted items created by residents of northern New Mexico to Crosses 4 Losses, the organization set up to aid survivors of the Black Forest Fire, which burned a large area near Colorado Springs this summer.

The items were a result of a drive I set up at local craft stores and other sites and through personal contacts.

Bob Fuselier, a veterinarian in Los Alamos, began working with Dr. Mohammad Khan Kharoti on educational projects in Afghanistan several years ago and traveled to the country in 2012. Dogs know it’s that time again. When the Christmas tree lights go on and the packages appear, they are eager to be in the living room. They sniff around everything – the candles, the ornaments, every package – and they know which one is theirs.

Los Alamos Golf Course Opens Dec. 26-Jan. 1.

LAGC News:

The Los Alamos Golf Course will open Dec. 26 through Jan. 1. The standard restrictions for this time of year will apply with carts permitted on paths only and tee times begining between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. each day. To protect the course, it will close back down after that.

Due to early snowfall, workers were unable to establish three pin locations on each green. By keeping the course closed for January, it will alleviate repetitive foot traffic that would have a detrimental effect on the greens

Ride to Sipapu on the Blue Bus

RTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District – RTD “Blue Bus” – will initiate service to Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort beginning Monday, Dec. 23 on its Taos to Peñasco route with a morning and afternoon stop. The service is being launched on a six-month trial basis to evaluate rider needs.

The morning run will depart the Taos County Administration Building at 8:05 a.m. and arrive at Sipapu at 8:48 a.m. The afternoon run will depart Sipapu at 3:46 p.m.and arrive at the Taos County Administration Building at 5:15 p.m. The RTD provides service Monday through Friday.

The Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division will be turning off the power to various streetlights to enhance the viewing of holiday farolitos.The streetlights will be turned off Tuesday, Dec. 24 and will be restored on Thursday, Dece.26.

The streets that will be affected are:

No RTD Blue Bus Service Christmas or New Year’s Day

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that the RTD “Blue Buses” will not be in service on Wednesday, Dec.25 and Wednesday, Jan.1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays respectively.
