JJAB News:
Our community offers a number of resources for youth and their families, but it can be difficult to know where to start.
JJAB Resource Specialists can help navigate the maze of public and private supports to find just what each youth needs.
A resource specialist coordinates and communicates with the youth, their family and service providers to create a specialized plan for each situation.
JJAB Resource Specialists are available year-round to connect youth and their families with:
- Local and Regional Therapists
- Social Activities, Summer Supports
- Academic Supports, Tutors and Mentors
- Substance Abuse Supports
- Basic/Life Needs – Housing, Food, Clothing, Internet
- Childcare Options
- Legal Resources
- Health Services
- Financial Resources
- COVID-19 Information
JJAB Resource Specialists are available to offer short-term assistance (if a youth or family needs just one or two resources) as well as still providing long-term case management. If you need help finding resources, Resource Specialists are currently offering assistance through phone, text, email, and video (Zoom, WhatsApp, Skype).
The Resource Specialist program is available to youth and their families that live or attend school, including homeschool, in Los Alamos County. Services are confidential, free of charge, and bilingual services are available.

Los Alamos JJAB is a local 501c3 nonprofit that focuses on the needs of youth with an emphasis on reducing youth risk behaviors, facilitating positive youth development, and building resiliency.
